Ski resort Pucón lay out in oldest and very beautiful national partk Villarrica. In primary neighborhood are two townlets Pucón and Villarrica, where most tourists find accomodation. Both of them have long history. They were extablished in15th century by spanish conquistadors. But they did not stay for long. They were chased out by natevi indians Mapuche, wich were able to keep their independecy for whole 300 years.
Recently teourism is the main financial resource for all inhabitants including sons of ancient natives.

The main winter attraction is skiing on the ramp of 2 840 m high volcano Villarrica (last outburts in 1971). The resort was opened in 1990 and its equipment improves every year. Today there is everything you expect from modern resort: ski-school, restaurants, shops, clubs. What may be better, and surely will, are ski-tows.
Except skiing on well maintained slopes you can also hike to the smoky pinhole of the volcano and enjoy magnificent view to the lake and others vocanos. The hike is possible also with ski-alpinistic ski. I can quaratee that after overcoming the superelevation of 16 40 m you will get really exude.
